POSE DEDICATED TO THE SAGE KOUNDINYA I

# Begin in a standing position. Start to squat, and then take your left knee to the floor.

# Turn your left foot so it points to the right, and sit on the heel. Cross your right foot over your left thigh, and place it beside your knee. Your right knee should be pointing toward the ceiling.

# Twist to the right, so that you can place your left upper arm across your right thigh. Slide your left armpit down the outside of the thigh. Try to maintain a strong contact between your left upper arm and your right outer thigh.

# Straighten your left elbow so that you can place your left palm on the floor (you may need to lean to the right to get your hand down.)

# To place your right palm down, gently lift both hips without letting the left arm shift from your right thigh. Lean further to the right and place your right hand on the floor. Hands should be shoulder-width apart, fingers spread wide.

# Lift your hips so that you are on the ball of your left foot.

# Slowly lean forward and continue to shift your weight so that your torso is above your hands.

0 Slightly bend your left shoulder toward the floor to lift your right foot.

0 Lean further forward so that you can float your left foot off of the floor.

# Straighten both knees simultaneously. Keep your chest lifting to bring your torso parallel to the floor.

# Hold for 3-5 breaths.

# Gradually lower both feet to the floor to release.

# Repeat on the other side.
