Strong Yoga Women
ACTRESS BRENDA STRONG TALKS ABOUT
In recent years we’ve known you as Mary Alice, the voice of Desperate Housewives’ and Bobby’s loyal wife Ann in the new DALLAS’. Most people aren’t aware that you are also a yoga teacher. When did you get involved with yoga?
When 1 took teacher training 19 years ago I was on a break from acting because I was pregnant Three years later I experienced secondary infertility. I began to use yoga to heal myself. I became aware of the countless couples struggling with infertility and wanted to help.
How do you have time with your busy career to teach?
Luckily, I have very dedicated teachers who teach workshops year round for Strong Yoga®4Fertility. We are doing another Strong Yoga®4Fertility training this August. My Strong Yoga team® is comprised of a Yoga Therapist, Psychologist and a Physician Assistant. We all have a passion and personal connection to this work.

How does Strong Yoga®4Women differ from other types of yoga?
I wanted to create something to help women move gracefully through every age and stage of their lives. It started by empowering women to cope with infertility, relationships, pregnancy and menopause. SY4F uses proprietary methodology to balance hormones, release pelvic tension, and nourish reproductive organs. Most clients have unexplained infertility and find the acupressure of the Strong Yoga® Fertility Ball helpful in natural conception or in concert with IVF. We also provide a safe space for the inevitable emotional ride that accompanies trying to conceive by teaching coping techniques, which are key to any life challenge. It is a tremendous gift.
