Heard that endurance yoga exercise can dampen your immune system? New Research has turned this on its head.Researchers at the University of Bath Reinterpreted scientific findings since the1980s. They found that during endurance sport, the number of some immune cells in the bloodstream can increase by up to 10times, especially ‘natural killer cells’, which deal with infections. After exercise, levels of some cells in the bloodstream decrease substantially – sometimes falling to levels lower than before exercise started and this can last for several hours.However, rather than being destroyed, as was previously thought, there’s evidence they simply move to sites that may need them more, such as the lungs.
