YOUR CONSORT GANESH: A COLORING MEDITATION

Coloring is always a wonderful way to slow down and get in touch with our creativity. All the better if we’re channeling our focus into inspirational symbols like Ganesh, known as the remover of obstacles!

How many obstacles did Oprah have to overcome? Gandhi? Martin Luther King Jr.? How many obstacles have you overcome? And how many more will there be? But even more than the number of obstacles we encounter in life, is how we face and displace them Some obstacles need to be dissolved, others knocked down, some climbed over, and, still others, pushed through. The point is that, whatever it takes, we must prevail. What if Oprah, Gandhi, and Martin Luther King Jr. had given up? Be tenacious. When an obstacle shows up and they will, over and over again understand them as the force that refines us. Acknowledge them, face them, and call upon Ganesh to assist you in transforming the obstacles into your light. Think of it as a video game: An obstacle appears, you conquer it, the obstacle dissolves, and a light that now belongs to you appears in its place. The more obstacles you confront and conquer, the more light you collect.

Ganesh is like the guardian angel of obstacles, the large, strong elephant that obliterates obstacles so you can move onward. Do this coloring meditation to integrate the concept of Ganesh into your psyche. The next time an obstacle arises, recall and repeat this simple meditative mantra: Ganesh, Ganesh, Ganesh. It’s a bit like “there’s no place like home” or “bibbidi, bobbidi, boo.” If Ganesh isn’t your thing, create your own mantra to utilize the next time an obstacle appears in your life. Be sure to write it here on this page and in your map so you can refer to it later. This is your magic song to be sung when the obstacles appear. And through the singing you, not the obstacle, will prevail.
