Bethesda may finally be preparing to properly unveil The Elder Scrolls VI. According to a new report, the long-awaited RPG is set to re-emerge on the 11th of November, coinciding with the 15th anniversary of Skyrim's original launch.

The report comes from The Verge, which claims Bethesda is planning an announcement for next month, on the same date Skyrim originally launched 15 years ago. This timing would also align with Bethesda's recent teasing campaign, as earlier this summer, Xbox CEO Asha Sharma began dropping hints about the title of the next Elder Scrolls game, challenging fans to work out its subtitle based on the number of characters in its name.

At this point, fans have largely settled on the theory that the new game will be titled The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel, a title linked to the Hammerfell region of Tamriel. Fans also uncovered what appeared to be a years-old teaser hidden in Starfield marketing material, while a former Bethesda developer further fuelled speculation by appearing to corroborate the Sentinel theory.

The Sentinel theory also fits with years of speculation surrounding the game's setting. Hammerfell has long been considered the frontrunner thanks to clues hidden in the original Elder Scrolls VI teaser released back in 2018, with many fans believing neighbouring High Rock could also play a role. If Bethesda is finally ready to reveal the game next month, we may soon find out just how much of the community's detective work has been accurate.

Regardless of whether the Sentinel theories prove correct, a proper Elder Scrolls VI reveal would mark a major moment for Xbox and Bethesda. After eight years of teasers, rumours and speculation, fans are understandably eager to see more than a distant mountain range and a logo. If the report is accurate, the wait may finally be coming to an end.

KitGuru Says: Do you think The Elder Scrolls VI will be revealed on Skyrim's anniversary next month? And are you convinced that Sentinel is the game's true subtitle?
