Phantom Blade Zero officially sells 4 million copies in 3 days

Almost a decade on from its initial inception, the fast-paced action-RPG Phantom Blade Zero is finally here. While it was clear that the game had amassed a major audience from the get-go (achieving a peak concurrent player count of 800,000 on Steam alone), studio S-GAME has now come out with an even more impressive figure – revealing that Phantom Blade Zero has officially sold 4 million copies in its first 3 days.

Taking to Twitter to make the announcement, studio S-GAME officially revealed just how successful the game has been during its first few days on the market, stating: “Phantom Blade Zero has sold over 4 million copies in just 72 hours! Thank you everyone from the bottom of our hearts for all the love and support!”

As mentioned, it was quite clear from early on that Phantom Blade Zero was going to have a strong launch, with the game’s director revealing back in September that the title had amassed more than 3 million wishlists.

PHANTOM BLADE 4 MILLION

Of course, wishlists are just that – wishlists – and so the real question which remained was how many of those 3 million would wind up purchasing the actual game. As it turns out, all of them and then some.

While not quite a 1:1 comparison, 2024’s Black Myth Wukong (which initially launched on both PC and PS5) sold a total of 10 million copies within its first 3 days on the market. So, while Phantom Blade Zero is still a far cry from the behemoth that was Black Myth Wukong, the latter remains one of the fastest-selling games of all time, and so being in the conversion at all is an achievement in and of itself.

Regardless, with incredibly strong early sales and an aggregate review score quite a bit higher than Wukong, it may not be long before Phantom Blade Zero manages to surpass another major milestone.
