Asus has officially launched the ROG Xbox Ally X20, making the new handheld available for purchase. Built to celebrate ROG's 20th anniversary, the device features AMD's Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor alongside a 7.4-inch OLED Nebula HDR display with variable refresh rate support.
Asus is also offering a bundle that includes the ROG XREAL R1 Edition 20 AR glasses, a dbrand Killswitch case and a Pelican hard case. The glasses use a 240Hz micro‑OLED panel with a 57‑degree field of view and native 3DoF tracking. Earlier Ally models remain available, including the standard ROG Xbox Ally and the Ally X.

The X20 uses a translucent black shell with gold accents and features revised cooling hardware, with Asus claiming a modest airflow increase and a slightly larger heatsink. The input layout has been updated too, with magnetic TMR joysticks, a D‑pad that switches between four‑way and eight‑way modes, flush face buttons and haptic impulse triggers.
Software updates arrive through Armory Crate Special Edition, adding Default Game Profile 2.0 for quick wattage changes and a Travel Mode that limits charging to 65W. Users can remap shortcut keys, switch between Native and Vivid HDR profiles and access preview features through an opt‑in channel. The ROG Xbox Ally X20 launches at $1,299, while the bundle is priced at $2,499.
KitGuru says: ASUS is pushing the premium handheld tier even further with that $1,299 starting price, though the OLED upgrade and newer silicon check plenty of boxes. Would you pick up the standalone handheld or consider the full AR glasses bundle?
