Cancelled game ‘Assassin’s Creed Destiny’ leaks

Ubisoft is still preparing to return Assassin’s Creed to China through the mobile‑exclusive Jade, but it turns out the publisher had a second project planned for the region. According to a new report, Ubisoft and Tencent were quietly working on a full Assassin’s Creed title for consoles and PC, only for the project to be cancelled early in development.

The report comes from MP1st, which uncovered details and prototype footage for a previously unknown game titled Assassin’s Creed Destiny. The project was led by TiMi Studio Group, the Tencent subsidiary also involved with Jade. Destiny was set in the Qin Dynasty period, a few years after Jade’s timeline, but appears to have been scrapped before production could properly begin. Most of the material originates from a February 2025 prototype.

The leaked footage shows a mission built around a female assassin infiltrating a sacred palace under siege by the historical figure Xiang Yu and his forces. Early work on a boss encounter with Xiang Yu is also visible. Other clips highlight familiar series staples, including stealth kills, parkour takedowns and the leap of faith.

Assassin's Creed Destiny’s cancellation appears to have coincided with internal restructuring at TiMi, which split the studio into multiple teams in early 2025. MP1st notes that several other projects were cancelled around the same period, including Athena, a Greek‑mythology action game, and Invictus, a stylised cyberpunk open‑world title led by Assassin’s Creed veteran Ashraf Ismail at TiMi’s Montreal division.

KitGuru says: It is rare to see prototype footage of an unannounced cancelled game, so this has been interesting. While Assassin's Creed Destiny no longer seems to be on the table, Jade should still make it to release.
