Overwatch x Stellar Blade crossover officially announced

Overwatch has been increasingly leaning into its franchise crossovers, with the free-to-play hero shooter having collabed with all sorts from anime to K-Pop groups; toys; video games and more. With regards to the latter, Blizzard has now unveiled its next major crossover, officially announcing Overwatch x Eve Protocol (aka Stellar Blade).

Taking to Twitter to tease the upcoming crossover, the official Stellar Blade page confirmed that an “Overwatch x EVE Protocol collaboration [is] incoming”. While details remain relatively light right now, the team revealed that the crossover will go live on the 3rd of November – officially releasing their first piece of promotional artwork.

Based on the teaser released, the collab will include a total of 5 skins to obtain:

• Eve (Widowmaker)
• Raven (Freja)
• Tachy (Vendetta)
• Adam (Soldier: 76)
• Lily (D.Va)

Assuming its monetisation will match that of past collabs, expect these skins to cost you around 2,800 Overwatch coins each (roughly £25-30).
Despite being a relatively new franchise, it is interesting to see just how much Stellar Blade has managed to find its way into other franchises, with Eve having appeared in the likes of Astro Bot; PUBG; Bayonetta and soon Overwatch.

This crossover is also interesting as Stellar Blade remains unavailable on Xbox platforms, despite the fact that Overwatch is a Microsoft-owned franchise. Whether this means Stellar Blade will be ported to the Xbox in future remains to be seen – but the connection certainly seems to be there.
