The Blood of Dawnwalker is getting its next major update, introducing new gameplay systems, accessibility improvements and over 1,100 fixes. Update 1.1 marks one of the game’s largest patches to date, adding new mechanics while refining core combat, traversal and camera behaviour.
The headline addition is the Draught of Mind Rebirth, a new system that allows players to forget their existing Swordmastery, Witchcraft and Vampirism abilities and re‑invest that time into mastering a different set. The update also introduces animal petting, letting players interact with dogs and cats using the game’s directional combat inputs. Story mode has been expanded too, now offering a choice between the Forgalyn difficulty and a new assisted mode designed to make combat encounters more manageable.
Several technical and accessibility improvements are included. Subtitle options have been expanded with larger fonts and full‑dialogue coverage. FrameGen technology has been updated with dedicated settings, and combat has seen adjustments to targeting, locking and disengaging. Camera behaviour has been refined, and traversal abilities like Shadowstep and PhaseShift now respond more reliably when leaping or attaching to surfaces.
The update also removes censorship from the Japanese Steam version, restoring blood and gore effects. Beyond the headline features, the patch contains more than 1,100 additional fixes and improvements, making Update 1.1 one of the most substantial updates the game has received so far.
KitGuru says: Patch 1.1 has taken quite a while, but it appears to have been worth the wait. Are you still playing through Blood of Dawnwalker?
