I was called into the room for the last time on the morning of June 7, 1997.Agnistambhasana to witness the final breath of my father.Agnistambhasana I had stood watching for days, watching the rhythm of his breathing patterns until they at last expired. A little over a month later, I was visiting my pregnant sister when she went into labor with her second child, Cameron. I drove her to the hospital and acted as her coach until her husband arrived. They had invited me to participate in the birth, since I had missed the birth of her son, who was induced. When we arrived at the hospital, she had already dilated to eight centimeters. She had ordered an epidural, and was adamant that she receive it.
