ARDHA CHANDRASANA HALF-MOON POSE

ARDHA CHANDRASANA (HALF-MOON POSE)

The core provides stability in this challenging balance.

From utthita trikonasana on the right side, bring the gaze down to the floor and bend into the right knee, transferring the weight into the right leg.

As you straighten the standing leg. slowly lift the left leg until it’s parallel with the floor (but avoid locking the knee).

Keep the chest opened out to the side, the right arm reaching up to the ceiling and the left arm down to the floor.

Either look up towards the right hand, or outwards with the head in line with the spine.

Remain here for 5 breaths before returning the gaze to the floor and bending the right knee to lower the left foot back to the ground, coming back into trikonasana.
