Cat Cow Pose Yoga

Mantra Meditation

Preparation: Sit in a comfortable position

When your mind has settled a little, move your awareness down to the centre of your chest, into the heart space

So as you breath in, focus your attention on this point and say to yourself, “Hummmmm”, and as you breathe out, say to yourself, “Saaaaaaaa”

Do this for a few minutes.

Then move your attention to your third eye (between the eyebrows). We are working at connecting the heart with the energy of the mind so that the yin (heart) and yang (mind) can balance out and work together. As you inhale, focus your attention the third eye and say to yourself, “Hummmmm”, and as you exhale, say to yourself, “Saaaaaaaa”.

Do this for a few minutes.

After a few minutes, let go of the practice. Let yourself simply sit for a moment or two.

Then allow a gentle smile to come onto your face, an effortless smile. Then begin to visualize that gentle smile moving down to your heart space area. Give thanks to your heart by smiling gently at it and let the smile radiate out into the entire chest area.

To complete this meditation, bring your attention back to your breath at your nostrils. Let go of all other practices. Watch your breath until you feel calm and relaxed. Then when ready, open your eyes gently and release your posture.
