Kundalini Yoga

Here are some Kundalini yoga sequences that can detoxify your body and radiate inner peace:
1. Sun Salutation: Start with standing poses such as Downward Dog or Cat-Cow. As you move through each pose, chant “Sun, stand above me” or “I am rising sun.” During the final pose, Downward Dog, imagine your breath flooding your entire body with warmth.
2. Triangle Pose: From Triangle Pose (a basic triangle pose), lift one leg up into the air and angle it so it’s perpendicular to the floor. Lean your torso towards your raised leg, stretching your spine forward. Hold for 30 seconds to 1 minute before releasing back to starting position. Repeat on other side.
3. Half Moon Pose: From Half Moon Pose (a basic seated pose), bring both knees in towards your chest and tuck them beneath your chin. Place palms on floor beside you for support.
Pranayama
When practicing pranayama, it is important to find a sequence that works for you and fits your practice. This sequence detoxing radiance is designed to help you increase your vitality and energy. It is also a great way to cleanse your body and mind. Begin by sitting in lotus position with your legs crossed in front of you. Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths in and out, counting to four as you breathe in and out. On the fourth breath, begin to chant OM. With each exhalation, say AHhhhh. Continue this chant for five minutes.
Next, slowly open your eyes and begin to practice vyana pranayama. Inhale deeply through your nose, hold your breath for two seconds, and exhale through your mouth while making ah sounds. Hold your breath for two seconds again and repeat the process six times. Try to keep your focus on the ah sound as you inhale and exhale.
To begin kriya pranayama, sit up tall with your palms resting on your thighs. Slowly raise your head, shoulders, chest, and stomach until you are in a standing position with toes pointed outward. Exhale all the air from your lungs and let your body relax. To begin the vyana pranayama, sit up tall with your palms resting on your thighs. Slowly raise your head, shoulders, chest, and stomach until you are in a standing position with toes pointed outward. Exhale all the air from your lungs and let your body relax. Then inhale through your nose while making ah sounds as you count to three. Hold your breath for two seconds and exhale slowly through the mouth while counting to three again. Repeat this series of five breaths six times. You can add more such as holding the breath or adding a second or third exhalation if you wish by continuing to chant AHhhh each time you breathe out in kri yas.
When you feel comfortable, practice the kriyas while standing on your feet.
3. Expanding the Flame of Consciousness: Third Eye Meditation
Sit in a comfortable position with both legs straight, heels touching each other, and hands resting comfortably at your sides. Close your eyes, take a deep breath in through all the nadis and let it out through all the nadis. Then begin to focus on your third eye region at a point about four inches above the middle of your forehead between the eyebrows and slightly to one side of that point. With this focused attention, feel yourself breathe in and out gently through this central point as you chant AHhhh three times while counting to five each time. Then close your eyes and relax, do not try to bring on a vision. Just breathe in and out through this third eye opening for about fifteen minutes. Then sit up straight and open your eyes to observe what you see with that new awareness.
If you then find yourself in the dark, turn off the lamp and just observe what is around you. If there are no familiar objects within sight, just stay with this observation of the darkness without any effort at visualizing or trying to figure anything out. It may take a while before you notice anything, but after a few minutes you will probably begin to see: exactly what?
